What: Affordable Housing Rally hosted by Homes for All
Location: MN State Capitol Rotunda (75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr BLVD, St. Paul, MN 55155)
Time: Tuesday, May 8, 2018, 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Invited Speakers: Chief Authors and Sponsors of our bonding request, Mayor Jacob Frey (Minneapolis), Ryan Vernosh (Maxfield Principal), Mayor Kirsten Kennedy (North Branch), Mayor Melvin Carter (St. Paul), zAmya.
The bonding bill in the House includes $50 million for Housing Infrastructure Bonds and $6.7 million in General Obligation bonds for public housing, which is less than half of the Homes for All 2018 ask. Housing is a critical infrastructure investment for communities throughout Minnesota, and this funding is not enough. As part of the National Housing Week of Action, sponsored by the National Low Income Housing Coalition, Homes for All will host a rally and open mic in the capitol rotunda for residents to share their stories and make our case for urgent investments across the housing continuum, from homelessness prevention to rental housing to homeownership. Join us on Facebook for the event here.
**Due to the weather, the Dinner in the Park for Homes for All hosted by Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood is postponed. We are sorry for any inconvenience and will update you on the new date and time!
Can’t make the rally?
If you are unable to attend the rally, here is an action you can take to help move the full Homes for All bonding request along @ the Capitol. Your voice is so important!
